West Bengal Elections 2021: The results of the assembly elections in five states including West Bengal (West Bengal) are going to come on Sunday.
On 10 March, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that she was attacked in Nandigram. His claim was made hours after his nomination in Nandigram. TMC said that this attack on the party chief was part of a well-planned conspiracy. It was claimed that the incident took place in Birulia Bazar of Nandigram, in which one leg of Mamta Banerjee was injured. However, later in its investigation, the Election Commission found that the incident in Nandigram was not an attack. After this, the Election Commission also expressed displeasure over Mamta Banerjee’s security director Vivek Sahai. The commission had said that Sahay was a meeting in a bulletproof car like VVIP. While Mamta Banerjee was sitting in a normal vehicle. Controversy over PM Modi’s photo In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accused of violating the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission. It was said that photographs of PM Modi are being published on the corona vaccine certificate. Also, their pictures are being used in hoardings after petrol pumps. Taking cognizance of this, the Election Commission had ordered all petrol pump dealers and agencies to remove all hoardings of advertisements containing the central government scheme, in which the picture of PM Modi has been used. The Election Commission had also written to the Ministry of Health asking them to follow the code of conduct.
Demonstration outside BJP office Demonstrations of workers were also seen outside the BJP offices located in various districts in West Bengal. These activists said that they are unhappy with the election of candidates from the BJP in the state. To give an example of one such case, the election of Ashok Lahiri, the former Chief Economic Advisor in the central government from Alipurduar, was under controversy. The District President said that he had never heard of Lahiri nor did he know anything about her.
