Shimla/ Manali/ Keylong. Snowfall and rain have been seen in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours. There was rain and snowfall in the high altitude areas of Lahaul Spiti and Kullu last night. Earlier, on Sunday, the two-month dry spell broke and snowfall occurred in Lahaul Spiti including Manali’s Atal Tunas, Sissu, Koksar.
According to the information, there was snowfall on the high peaks of Atal Tunnel, Rohtang Pass, Shinkula and Manali on Sunday afternoon. Due to this the minimum temperature dropped to 4 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the tourists who reached Rohtang and Shinkula thoroughly enjoyed the snowfall and the snowfall near the South and North portal of Atal Tunnel made the tourists worth their money.
Tourists are going to Lahaul
There has been no good snowfall till the month of December and hence now tourists are going to snow points in Lahaul Valley. Hundreds of tourists who reached Darcha-Shinkula road and Zanskar Sumdo live snow point enjoyed the snow to the fullest. The thick layers of snow from Darcha Shinkula road to Zanskar Sumdo Snow Point not only attracted the tourists but also put a glow on the faces of the tourism businessmen. Tourists thoroughly enjoyed the photo session as well as snow activities in the snow covered valleys and valleys and everyone expressed their gratitude to the district administration and BRO for the safe and organized travel experience.
Zilla Parishad member Kunga Bodh also reached the spot and met tourists and local businessmen. Kunga Bodh appreciated the efforts of the administration and BRO and said that such a large number of tourists are able to reach Lahaul only by opening the roads on time, managing the traffic system and ensuring security. He said that better coordination of the administration and prompt action of BRO is playing an important role in promoting winter tourism. Tourists also admitted that their trip has become memorable due to timely restoration of roads, active cooperation of police-administration and safe environment. On the other hand, the district administration appealed to the tourists to travel only after knowing the weather and to follow the guidelines issued from time to time by the administration.
The female and male tourists, who were part of a group of 16 people from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, said that they were thinking since last day that they would not know whether they would see snowfall. But now there has been snowfall. Now he is doing very well.
Light snowfall also occurred near Atal Tunnel
Tourists Manpreet, Anshul and Sudhir, who came to see light snowfall near Atal Tunnel in Manali, said that their dream of seeing snowfall has come true. He did not expect that he would get a chance to see live snowfall like this, but he was very lucky that he got a chance to see live snowfall and enjoy its look. Tourists say that many videos of Manali are going viral and it is being said that there is no snow here, all of them are lies. There is still a lot of snow in the surrounding areas including Rohtang Pass and there has been fresh snowfall even today.
What did the weather department predict for today?
In Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and snowfall in some areas of Chamba and Lahaul Spiti for Monday. However, there was bright sunshine in other areas of the state on Monday. The important thing is that the dry spell has not broken in the central hilly and plain areas of the state on Sunday. There has been no rain for two months and everything from crops to normal life has been affected.
