Dungarpur. A family resident of Dungarpur city of Rajasthan is facing stumbling blocks for justice. Making serious allegations against the police and the administration, the victim’s family has now threatened to commit suicide. The aggrieved party has accused former Rajya Sabha MP Harshvardhan Singh of grabbing 40 bighas of land. In this case, a case was also registered against 5 people including the former Rajya Sabha MP and the then Tehsildar in the Kotwali police station on the court’s issue 1 year ago. Despite this, the victim’s family protested against the former Rajya Sabha MP as well as the police and administration by staging a sit-in at the collectorate. Desperate for not getting justice, the family has now threatened to commit suicide.
The victim Salim told that in the year 1965, his father Pirvaksh Mevafarosh had bought 40 bighas of land from Dungarpur Maharawal Secretary Ambalal Patel. The registry was also done in the sub-registration office in the year 1985, but after the implementation of the Ceiling Act, his land was declared unclaimed. Due to this the name of the applicant could not be mentioned in the revenue records. After this, the applicant had given an application for Khatedari rights in the Dungarpur SDM court, in which on February 13, 2001, the Dungarpur SDM rejected the application after the land holder Dungarpur Tehsildar declared it as government land. The applicant had appealed before the Revenue Appeal Officer (Dungarpur), in which on August 14, 2001, the Revenue Appeal Officer, rejecting the decision of the Dungarpur SDM Court, declared the applicant as a share tenant on the basis of registered documents.

According to the information, after this the applicant presented an application to the Dungarpur Tehsildar to open the nomination on July 5, 2004, but the Tehsildar refused to take action citing the pending matter in the Board of Revenue. Salim alleges that on June 13, 2017, Harshvardhan Singh prepared a forged document with his influence and in connivance with the then Dungarpur Tehsildar, Mandwa Khaparda Patwari, Sarpanch and Village Secretary, got the said 40 bighas of land opened in his name.
