Jairam said that today Panchayat elections are being discussed under the stop work proposal and the Chief Minister is not in the House. He is the one who has to answer but God knows where he is instead of the House. This government has completely derailed. Far from vision. It is working completely keeping the interests of the state in mind.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the government is taking the help of disaster to postpone the Panchayat elections while not taking any effective steps for the disaster affected. The attempt to postpone Panchayat elections is also against the Constitution. But the government’s intention regarding Panchayat elections was already clear. Due to which the State Election Commission kept creating hurdles in the preparations related to Panchayat elections in some way or the other. Ever since the State Election Commission is taking steps related to elections, the government is going against the rules and interfering in the work of the Election Commission.

The former CM said that when the Election Commission asked to prepare the reservation roster, the government put a stop to the roster determination. Even when instructions were given to implement Panchayat re-delimitation and election preparations, the government created hurdles in the name of disaster. When the Commission froze the boundaries of Panchayats by invoking Section 12.1 of the Model Code of Conduct, the Government is issuing orders from the Cabinet for re-delimitation of Panchayats. This is a direct conflict between the government and the Election Commission and is a violation of the rights of the Election Commission and interference in its decisions. Which BJP will not tolerate.

Jai Ram Thakur said that it is very unfortunate that the government postpones the important questions asked by the party MLAs to the Indian public. Doesn’t the government know how many jobs they have provided on permanent and temporary basis in the last three years? Does the government not know how many people have been appointed to posts like advisors or OSD during the tenure of Sukhwinder Singh? Did the government turn a blind eye while appointing them, which they have no idea about. Or these figures are such that the government will not be able to show its face to the public by giving that figure. Does the government not know how many people have been given extension in service and how many people have been re-appointed.

He said that Wing Commander Namansh Syal ji, who sacrificed his life for the country, was a very talented and courageous pilot. The country has lost a very capable soldier and son.
