In the report of Genius HR Tech, 1,607 professionals agreed that now purpose, growth and flexibility are more important than loyalty in job. RP Yadav talked about a new strategy.
New Delhi. A new report released in Mumbai has clearly stated that the meaning of loyalty towards job has now completely changed. Whereas earlier people considered staying in the same company for years as their identity, today’s professionals give more importance to purpose, flexibility and continuous growth in their work than job. This change is a big signal for companies that retaining talent is no longer as easy as before.
In this report by Genius HR Tech, 1,607 people from different sectors were interviewed and a large number agreed that career loyalty has now become an old idea. Most importance is now being given to what the work is like, how much learning opportunity is available and whether the company really promotes the progress of its employees.
More importance is given to adaptability, not loyalty.
When professionals were asked in the survey what is the real meaning of career loyalty, most of them said that staying in the job is no longer a measure of loyalty. Instead, people prefer environments where they can adapt to changing times and continuously improve their skills. Career has no longer become a lifetime contract but an ongoing journey.
The strategy of retaining employees will also have to be changed.
RP Yadav, Chairman and Managing Director of Genius HR Tech, says that now employers will have to rethink their retention strategy. Just giving long job experience will not suffice. Companies will have to pay more attention to aspects like trust, recognition, transparency and career progression. These are the things that motivate today’s employees to stay somewhere.
Purpose and growth are the biggest priority in work
The report clearly shows that today’s professional wants to see what is the real purpose of his work and how much growth it is bringing to him. Salary and stability are now a secondary priority. People are choosing such roles which provide challenge, opportunity to learn and where their contribution is visible. This is the reason why companies are also being forced to change their working style.
