The special thing about star fruit is that this fruit is available throughout the year and it can be cultivated in almost every part of the country. At present, the Thai variety of star fruit is most popular because its fruit is very sweet and bears fruits throughout the year. Bhushan Kumar tells that this plant grows very fast and it can be planted in any season. Flowers start appearing in 40 to 45 days after planting and fruits are ready in 45 to 60 days.
Bhushan Kumar had planted this plant after getting it from West Bengal. Now he himself has prepared its cuttings and is motivating nearby farmers to plant it. Rajendra Sah, a farmer of Rahua village, says that litchi earns income only for two months in a year, whereas it has to be taken care of throughout the year. Due to this, profits remain limited. This is the reason why along with litchi, he also wants to do star fruit gardening.
