He said, ‘I have been on tour of England with the Indian team twice. My message to Indian batsmen is – do what our police is famous for doing in old Bollywood movies. Use it while batting in the final. After this the fans also decoded it. In fact, in the olden days, the police were famous for arriving late in Bollywood films. Thus, Jaffer wanted to point out that Indian players should play late against New Zealand fast bowlers if conditions aid in seam and pace.
The Indian team is playing practice matches to get back into the rhythm and get accustomed to the England pitch and weather conditions. In the intra-squad match, many players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj were in good form. The New Zealand team has star bowlers like Matt Henry, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson and Trent Boult. In such a situation, it will be challenging for the Indian batting line-up to perform on the pitches of England.
