Samsung launched its new Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone on Tuesday. This is the company’s first twice-folding phone. This phone has a triple rear camera setup and will be available for sale in South Korea in December. Later, it will also be made available in global markets like China, Taiwan, Singapore, UAE and America. This phone will come only in Crafted Black color.
Galaxy Z TriFold is a foldable smartphone with dual SIM and it runs on OneUI 8 based on Android 16. Inside the phone is a 10-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 269ppi pixel density, 1600nits peak brightness, and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover display is 6.5-inch and is full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, with 422ppi pixel density, 2600nits peak brightness and 21:9 aspect ratio.
The hinge of the phone is made of titanium housing and the armor is stronger than aluminum. It has two different sized hinges and a dual-rail structure, which keeps folding smooth and stable.
Will get two selfie cameras
The Galaxy Z TriFold runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3nm) chipset, supports 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The camera setup includes a 200-megapixel primary camera (OIS), 12-megapixel ultrawide and 10-megapixel telephoto camera (OIS and 30x digital zoom). There are two 10 megapixel selfie cameras on both displays.
For power, the phone has a 5,600mAh battery, which supports 45W wired and 15W wireless fast charging. For connectivity, it includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C. The sensors of the phone include side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, barometer, gyro, proximity and light sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold measures 159.2×75.0×12.9mm when folded and 159.2×214.1×3.9mm when unfolded, weighing approximately 309g.
Price and availability
Samsung has not yet announced the price of Galaxy Z TriFold. Its sale in South Korea is expected to start from December 12. Customers will also get hands-on experience of the handset in select offline stores. Price information will be shared in the coming days.
