Chennai. In Tamil Nadu, the first case of infection with the Delta Plus form of corona virus has been reported. A nurse from Chennai has been found infected with this. The top official of the state gave this information on Wednesday.
Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Dr. J Radhakrishnan said that in May, the health department had sent 1,159 samples to INSACOG (Indian SARS Cove-2 Genomic Consotria), a group of 28 laboratories earmarked for genetic sequencing of the COVID-19 virus. Out of these, the test report of 772 samples came on Wednesday.

He told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, ‘Out of these 772 samples, one sample taken in Chennai was found infected with Delta Plus form. The infected is a 32-year-old nurse working in the hospital here.

On the other hand, after 6,596 new cases of Kovid-19 infection were reported in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, the total number of infected people in the state increased to 24,43,415. At the same time, with the death of 166 more patients, the total number of dead increased to 31,746.
According to a bulletin, 10,432 people were discharged on Wednesday after recovering from the infection, taking the total number of people who have been cured so far to 23,58,785. The bulletin states that the total number of patients under treatment in the state is 52,884.
