Problems of livestock farmers like infertility and lack of milk can be solved with green fodder. According to animal scientist Dr. Ranjan, Vitamin A is essential for milch animals. Deficiency of which reduces fertility. Barseem is called the ‘King of Forder Grass’. Which is rich in 20% protein and Vitamin A. Giving 30-40 kg green fodder to cattle every day can reduce the feed expenditure by half.
West Champaran: If you are a cattle farmer and are always worried about the health of cattle, then today we are telling you one such solution to prevent it. Due to this, problems like loss of appetite in animals, reduction in milk productivity and many other health related problems can be solved. Animal scientists even say that if cattle farmers give these green fodder as the main diet of animals, then the expenditure on cattle feed will be reduced by more than half. The interesting thing is that most of the cattle rearers in the country including Bihar grow these green beans extensively in their fields. Let us tell you that these grasses are none other than Barseem, Napier, Sorghum, Jowar, Oats etc.
Serious diseases caused by Vitamin A deficiency
Dr. Ranjan, a veterinary scientist working at the Native Cow Breeding Conservation and Promotion Center located in Madhopur of the district, says that it is very essential to have ‘Vitamin A’ in the diet of milch animals. You can feed them anything you want. If they are not getting adequate supply of Vitamin A, then they will not be able to survive. This means that infertility problems will start arising in them. Along with this, their reproductive capacity will also start decreasing. This is the most serious situation for any cow rearer. To ensure that such a situation never arises in the future, you should thoroughly understand the amount of nutrients in the diet of cattle.
Barseem is medicine for animals
Dr. Ranjan explains that Barseem is called the King of Fodder Grass. It is cultivated mainly in winter. Any level cattle rearer or dairy farmer can plant it in his fields. This is a grass which is considered best for animals when used as green fodder. It is a legume crop, hence it has very high amount of protein, calcium and other nutrients. Barseem is rich in up to 20 percent protein, one to one and a half percent calcium, vitamin A, vitamin D, D3 and other nutrients.
good as food
Apart from Barseem, oats, rye, bean grass and Azolla are also green fodder which are rich in nutrients. In such a situation, if you feed all these green fodder to the cattle, then the possibility of infertility, blindness, reproductive problems and muscle growth problems in them gets eliminated. The thing to note is that only 30 to 40 kg of green fodder should be given to the cattle every day. In this you can add up to 5 kg of chaff and one to one and a half kg of Azolla.
