Natural Farming: Women self-help groups of village Mokhla and Bharregaon of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh have made natural farming a medium of self-reliance. Krishi Sakhis trained under the National Natural Farming Mission are reducing the costs of farmers by making organic products and are themselves becoming financially empowered.
After the technical training received under the National Natural Farming Mission, the agricultural friends of the women’s group of Mokhla and Bharegaon are seen preparing organic inputs like Jeevamrit, Bijamrit, Dhanamrit. This training proved important in making them self-reliant.
The women of the group are preparing natural pest control products like Aganyastra, Brahmastra, Nimastra and Dashaparni extract. With these organic products, farmers are getting rid of chemical pesticides and the quality of crops is improving.
The group has been given the responsibility of supplying bio-input material in the 375-acre natural farming cluster developed by the Agriculture Department. Through BRC, essential organic materials are being provided to the farmers from sowing to harvesting.
