Rainwater Detection System: Kirtan Gaur and team of IIT Delhi made Rainwater Detection Sensor for Rs 300. Which gives rain alert to the farmers. If a farmer stays away from his field and it starts raining, he will get an immediate alert on his phone. This will not harm them.
Delhi: Engineering students studying in Delhi IIT have together prepared a device which can detect rain instantly. The rain water detector system made at a cost of just Rs 300 can prove to be an economical and useful technology for farmers and common people. This project has been designed by Kirtan Gaur and his team.
Sensor sends rain alert as soon as it falls
The team told that Rainwater Detection Sensor has been installed in this system. As water falls on the sensor, it processes the signal and sends three levels of information – light, moderate and heavy rain. The special thing is that the buzzer installed in it gives different sounds according to the speed of rain, due to which information is available without looking at the screen.
Complete control from Telegram Bot
Students to make it smarter Telegram Bot Also added. In case of too many alerts, the user can shut down the system by simply typing stop. even after the system is shut down status When you type, you get the reading at that time. This feature is especially useful for those who live far away or do not want frequent updates.
Why is it special for farmers
Kirtan Gaur told that this system has been specially designed keeping in mind the rural areas and farmers.
Farmers often stay away from the fields. There is damage due to sudden rain. In such a situation, this sensor will immediately send an alert to their phone. With this, if the farmer stays away from his field and it starts raining, he will get an immediate alert on the phone. If grains are drying in the field, they can be covered immediately. After releasing water in the field, this sensor will also tell whether the water has reached the field or not. It is also helpful in detecting water leakage in any machine or room.
Future improvements and launch plans
The team says that this is still only a prototype. There are plans to make it stronger and safer in the future. They want to add features related to better waterproofing, cover protection and rain water conservation in it. Students told that the entire project took one month to plan and only one week to construct.
