24 farmers of Gaya returned to the agricultural fair in Pune after learning advanced onion, garlic and flower cultivation techniques, which will now make farming like Maharashtra possible in Bihar.
Now advanced varieties of flowers, onions and garlic will be cultivated in Bihar like Maharashtra. We are saying this because 24 farmers of Gaya district were sent by the Agriculture Technology Management Agency of the Agriculture Department to Pune, Maharashtra to participate in the country’s biggest farmers fair organized from 10-13 December.
All the farmers visited the Farmers Exhibition held in Pune from 10th to 13th December and also visited the fields of Onion and Garlic Research Institute, Hitech Flower City, Mahatma Phule Agricultural University located in Rajgurunagar and saw and learned the advanced technologies adopted by the progressive farmers.
Among the farmers, 24 farmers from different blocks including Rajesh Kevat from Belaganj, Uttam Prasad from Barachatti, Rajeev Kumar from Paraiya, Ranjan Kumar Paswan from Bankebazar, Anil Kumar Mehta from Tankuppa had gone to participate. All the farmers have returned from there to Gaya on Monday.

Anil Kumar Mehta, one of the 24 farmers from Tankuppa block area, told Local 18 that the farmers of Gaya district have learned a lot in the country’s biggest agricultural fair organized in Pune. We also saw and took training on advanced cultivation of onion and garlic there.
Gaya District Agriculture Officer Sanjeev Kumar said that the objective of this program is to see and understand the advanced technologies adopted by farmers in different places of India and implement them in their fields. Saw many advanced farming practices by the farmers who went from Gaya to Pune and also took training on the same.
Let us tell you that onion and garlic are cultivated on a large scale in Maharashtra and the farmers there make full use of technology. Farmers were sent from here to learn the same technique so that farmers in Bihar can also use the same technique to cultivate onion and garlic so that the yield is higher at lower cost.
