Air pollution: AQI was recorded between 150 to 260+ in Faridabad and Gurugram this morning, due to which the air quality became very poor. People felt heaviness due to smog, smoke, irritation and dryness in the throat. Doctors have warned that this pollution is extremely dangerous for children, the elderly and asthma patients.
Faridabad: This morning, as soon as people stepped out of their homes, the mixture of mist and smoke present in the air became clearly felt. Slight burning sensation while breathing and stinging sensation in the eyes once again made it clear that the pollution in NCR is not showing signs of reducing. In both the cities of Faridabad and Gurugram, the morning AQI was recorded between 150 to 260+ in many areas, ranging from moderate to very poor and at some places reaching the severe category.
AQI in Sector 56 was around 214, while in Sector 49 it was around 219. The average AQI of entire Gurugram remained between 190 to 210+ in the morning. Visibility was also reduced due to light fog in many areas. Office goers reported that the air was feeling heavy and the problem of dryness in the throat had increased. Experts have warned that increasing pollution is more harmful for children, the elderly and asthma patients. Also, it is advised that people avoid morning walks, wear masks and do not go out unnecessarily.
