The allegation was that these people beat him using caste based words and threatened to kill him.
deliberately made a false complaint
When the police started a thorough investigation of the case, the whole matter turned upside down. The investigation led by the then ACP of the Chowk area revealed that there was an old dispute going on between the two parties over about 2000 square feet of land. The said land was in the possession of Hasibul Rahman. Shakuntala Devi had deliberately made a fake complaint with the intention of grabbing this possession.
Shocking facts in discussion
Even more shocking facts came to light during the investigation. On the day of the incident, neither the accused nor Shakuntala Devi herself was present at the spot. Shakuntala Devi was at that time in Kaiserbagh area, which is far away from the incident site. The most surprising thing is that Vashishtha Tiwari, named in the complaint, had died in the year 2014 itself. The dead person was also made an accused.
Court found Shakuntala Devi guilty
On the basis of all this evidence, the investigator found the original case to be false and closed it and submitted a report in the court against Shakuntala Devi under the sections of making false complaint and misuse of law. After a long hearing, the SC-ST Special Court convicted Shakuntala Devi and sentenced her to three years imprisonment. In its order, the court has directed to send a copy of the order to the Police Commissioner and the District Magistrate. Also, if Shakuntala Devi has received any relief amount for filing a fake case, then it should be taken back.
