The IGI Airport Unit of Delhi Police has busted an interstate fake visa racket and arrested mastermind V Kannan from Tamil Nadu. This racket used to give fake French D-type visas to the youth for Rs 12 lakh each in the name of getting them warehouse jobs in France.
New Delhi. Delhi Police’s International Airport (IGI) Unit, continuing its operation against fake visa racket, has unearthed another interstate network. This racket used to provide fake visas to the youth who wanted to go abroad from India by luring them with jobs. In this case, IGI Airport police station has arrested 55-year-old chief agent V Kannan from Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you that on October 28, 2025, three Indian passengers Navinraj Subramaniam, Mohan Gandhi Elangovan and Prabhakaran Senthilkumar reached the immigration counter of IGI Airport to go to Paris. All three were arrested during visa check.
Upon detailed examination of the visas at IGI Airport, the French D-type visas affixed on the passports of the three were found to lack security features and were found to be fake. After this the police registered the case under relevant legal sections. During interrogation, the passengers revealed that Naveenraj’s fake visa was provided by his brother for Rs 6 lakh and the visas of the other two passengers, Mohan Gandhi and Prabhakaran, were provided by an agent from Tamil Nadu for Rs 12 lakh each.

This gang used to send money to France for 12 lakhs
On the instructions of DCP IGI, a team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Virendra Kumar Tyagi. Based on technical surveillance and local intelligence, the team successfully arrested Chief Agent V. Kannan from Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. During interrogation, Kannan confessed that he ran a government ITI in Velur and also ran an overseas education consultancy. With the help of his co-accused Madurai resident Syed alias Abdul Hakim, he gave fake visas to about 16 job aspirants for warehouse jobs in France. The visa amount was taken through both cash and bank transfer.
IGI Airport Police emphasized that in the month of November 2025 itself, a total of 26 people including 6 fake agents have been arrested or booked in cases related to fake, fake visa passports. Apart from this, in the month of November alone, 28 brokers have been arrested for commission and other illegal activities at the airport. The police is now searching for Kannan’s associate Sathik Syed and it is being ascertained whether the links of this racket are connected to other states also.
