For some time, serious concerns were being raised regarding demographic change in Uttarakhand. In some districts, many suspicious cases were reported on the basis of fake documents, wrong caste certificates and residence certificates. On this entire issue, Chief Minister Dhami directed all the districts to scrutinize the files of the last five years and examine every certificate. Following similar instructions, a special investigation committee was formed in Haldwani Pargana area, which includes Revenue Department officials, Tehsildar level employees and document verification team.
