IFSO unit of Delhi Police has arrested Kuldeep and Piyush, who cheated in the name of government job by creating fake websites of ASI and Culture Ministry. Together these two have committed this big fraud. Both have cheated thousands of children.
The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police has busted a big fake government job racket. The fraudsters had planned to defraud the youth by creating fake websites that were exact copies of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Ministry of Culture. The police took timely action and stopped this scam, before lakhs of rupees could be recovered. According to the police, the case is related to FIR number 268/25 Special Cell. The accused created a fake website in the name of ASI and issued a false advertisement on it for recruitment to 7 posts of Curator and 84 posts of Junior Assistant.
This advertisement quickly went viral on WhatsApp groups, social media platforms and messaging apps of college students. Hundreds of unemployed youth considered it to be a real government recruitment and applied online. The trick of the fraudsters was so clever that to increase credibility, they even conducted the written examination in a reputed examination center in Jaipur. No one became suspicious after the examination was conducted and the youth were completely confused. The plan of the accused was to declare about 50 percent of the candidates passed in the examination and then charge a huge amount in the name of interview.
Used to target rich students
They were especially targeting financially strong candidates, so that more money could be extorted. But as soon as the IFSO unit of Delhi Police received the information, immediate action started. Under the supervision of ACP Vijay Gehlawat, Inspector Kuldeep Kumar’s team destroyed the entire network. Police arrested the main accused Kuldeep and web developer Piyush. Several mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers, tablets, iPads and bank passbooks have been recovered from the accused. Further investigation from these devices is expected to reveal more. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused were active in this type of cyber fraud for a long time. They were taking advantage of the youth’s dream of government jobs by completely copying the design, logo and content of government websites.
Delhi Police has appealed to the youth to verify the information about government recruitments only from official websites like culture.gov.in or asi.nic.in. Be careful before clicking on any suspicious link or transferring money. Police may make more arrests in this case and in-depth investigation of the entire racket is going on.
