Patna: Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav said on Tuesday that he hopes that the new Speaker of the Assembly, Prem Kumar will give equal opportunity to the ruling party and the opposition in the House.
Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar was unanimously elected Speaker of the 18th Bihar Assembly on Tuesday. Protem Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav informed the House that Prem Kumar was the only candidate for the post of Speaker. Senior MLA Prem Kumar is known for his long experience and calm nature. On his selection for the post of Speaker, he was warmly welcomed by both the ruling party and the opposition in the House.
Leader of Opposition in the House, Tejashwi Yadav, while congratulating him, tried to give a positive and cooperative political message.
Yadav, in his address to the House, said that on behalf of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), RJD National President Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Grand Alliance and all the people of Bihar, he extends hearty greetings to the Speaker of the Assembly.
Yadav expressed hope that the new Assembly Speaker will maintain the dignity and dignity of the House by giving equal opportunities to both the ruling party and the opposition.
He said, “Prem Kumar has long experience in political and social life. As a minister and leader of the opposition, he has always raised the voice of the public and now as the Speaker, it is expected from him that he will live up to the expectations of the public with complete impartiality as per the rules.
The Leader of Opposition said that it is the responsibility of every member of the House to be cooperative and not to disappoint anyone. He assured that the opposition will always stand with the Speaker when needed.
RJD leader Yadav said that in parliamentary democracy, the opposition is also an important part of the government and everyone’s objective is to make Bihar a leading state.
He appealed to create a “New Bihar” with new resolve by eliminating challenges like unemployment, poverty and migration.
Yadav clarified that the role of the opposition is to show the mirror on the mistakes of the government and there is no personal bitterness in it, hence the ruling party is requested to listen to the voice of the opposition with full seriousness, so that Bihar can be taken forward in the right direction.
