Singh said that he has information about most of the locations of Mukhtar Ansari. Like he has many businesses of eggs and fish. If the government asks, this information will be kept in front. He told that the Yogi government has broken his back to a great extent, still a lot of work is left to be done.

What happened 18 years ago?
In January 2004, when Shailendra Singh was in charge of the Varanasi unit of the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh. At that time there was firing in the gang war between Krishnanand Rai and Mukhtar Ansari in the Cantt area of Lucknow. The then Samajwadi Party government activated the UP STF on this matter. STF was monitoring both the groups through surveillance. Only then it came to know in a call that Mukhtar Ansari was talking to a fugitive soldier to buy LMG (light machine gun) for one crore.
Then Shailendra Singh raided the Chaubepur area of Varanasi on January 25, 2004 and nabbed Babu Lal Yadav and Munnar Yadav from the spot and recovered the LMG along with 200 cartridges. Singh himself filed a case against Mukhtar Ansari under Crime No. 17/04 under Arms Act and Crime No. 18/04 under POTA in Chaubepur police station. According to Singh, there was pressure from the then government to withdraw the case.
Singh explains In this case, he was tortured so much that in 2004 he had to resign from the job. After this, he was sued on the complaint of vandalism and assault in the District Magistrate’s office, he was sent to jail. However, after the initiative of the present Yogi government, their cases have been dismissed.
