West Champaran: Today we are telling you about a fertilizer which can be made easily. For this, not any chemical but cow dung will be required. It can be prepared at home itself. You will not have to spend even a single penny in preparing it. You can prepare a large amount of fertilizer in 30 to 40 days with just cow or buffalo dung. Experts say that this fertilizer prepared in a natural way is many times more powerful and safe than any chemical fertilizer. Let us give you complete information about preparing it.
Prepare compost from household waste
Ravikant Pandey of Bettiah, who has been working as a consultant with Kheti Kisan for about 25 years, says that organic waste generated from homes like vegetable peels, fruit remains and other leftover food items are the best waste for cow dung manure. These elements together with cow dung increase the amount of organic matter. Help the manure to decompose faster. Mixing dry grass, leaves and other crop residues left in the fields with cow dung manure increases its fertilizer capacity. This material works to increase important nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
Keep these things in mind
Collect suitable organic waste like kitchen waste, dry leaves and crop residues along with cow dung. Deposit all these at a designated place where the compost is to be prepared. Keep in mind that first of all a layer of cow dung has to be made, then a layer of kitchen waste and dry leaves has to be put on top of it. In this manner, keep stacking these layers one after the other. Just keep spraying water in it from time to time. It is also very important to maintain the balance of moisture, so that the manure can decompose properly and there is no fungus or spoilage in it.
Homegrown manure is ready for use
Turn the cow dung once every 15-20 days so that air can enter and the decomposition process can happen faster. This process supplies oxygen to the compost, allowing bacteria and microbes to work better. Cow dung manure becomes completely ready in about 2 to 3 months. When the color of the manure becomes dark brown and its smell becomes like soil, then understand that it is ready for use.
