Bajaj Chetak Electric: Chetak scooter, which was first launched in India in 1972, is once again becoming the choice of the people. Chetak remained the first choice of Indian customers for decades. As time changed, scooters were replaced by motorcycles, so the company Bajaj discontinued Chetak in 2006, but now once again Chetak is bringing the company ahead in the race again. KTM, a Swiss sports bike manufacturerKTM) has recently decided to sell the electric avatar of Chetak in European countries. Sales will start in these countries from next year. Swiss sports bike manufacturer KTM has a manufacturing partnership with Bajaj Auto.
The partnership between the two companies started in October 2007 and the first bike was launched in 2011. Under this partnership, Bajaj has so far made 10 lakh KTM bikes, out of which 5 lakh have been sold only in India. Rest of the bikes are exported to 70 countries. Bajaj Auto launched the electric avatar of Chetak in October 2019. The funny thing is that like before people once again reposed faith in Chetak. The company has sold more than 24,000 units of this electric scooter so far. Currently the cost of the scooter is around Rs 1.5 lakh.

Chetak used to be the identity of Bajaj
Bajaj Chetak an Electric scooter is available in only 1 variant and 6 colours. Bajaj Chetak generates 3800 watts of power from its motor. With front disc and rear drum brake, Bajaj Chetak comes with combined braking system in both the tyres. Bajaj Auto was known for Bajaj Chetak before it became popular for motorcycles. The Pune-based two-wheeler giant had completely stopped manufacturing scooters over the past few years and since then has been working on a new electric scooter offering and has now finally launched the Chetak in an electric avatar.
Drive 70 thousand km without worry
Bajaj Chetak is equipped with a 3kWh IP67 rated Lithium-Ion battery. The motor has a power rating of 4kW (peak) and 3.8kW (continuous) with 16 Nm peak torque. Two drive modes Sport and Eco are available in the scooter. The scooter gets a single charge range of 95km. Bajaj claims that the battery life is around 70,000 kms. Apart from this, Bajaj has equipped the e-scooter with several new features like reverse assist mode, regenerative braking and onboard intelligent battery management system.
