Etawah: Daljit Singh Chaudhary, who was posted as SSP about two decades ago, has retired from the post of DG in the Border Security Force. Obviously everyone would like to remember the tenure of Daljit Singh Chaudhary. When Daljit Singh Choudhary was posted in Etawah, there was widespread terror of notorious dacoits in the Chambal area of Etawah. In such a situation, Daljit Singh Chaudhary very intelligently made a strategy to eliminate the bandits.
Daljit Singh Chaudhary was posted as SSP of Etawah from 20 August 2004 to 19 January 2006. During his tenure, Daljit Singh Chaudhary has not only arrested hundreds of dacoits, but has also killed dozens of them. Daljit Singh Choudhary along with his team launched a big missionary campaign against the active role of dacoits in Etawah, the result of which was that the terror of dacoits not only ended from Etawah, but today Chambal valley is said to be dacoit free.
Important role in ending the terror of bandits
All this can be said to be the result of the tireless hard work and hard work of Daljeet Chaudhary. During the time of Daljit Singh Choudhary in Etawah, dacoit Nirbhay Gurjar, dacoit Arvind Gurjar, dacoit Rajjan Gurjar, dacoit Salim Gurjar, dacoit Jagjivan Parihar along with women dacoits were creating terror in Chambal valley. Everyday incidents of dacoits were troubling the police administration.
Before the posting of Daljit Chaudhary in Etawah, on July 31, 2004, Nirbhay Gurjar’s adopted son Shyam Jatav and Nirbhay’s fourth wife Neelam Gupta had surrendered in the entry robbery court of Etawah. On the basis of the conversation with Neelam and Shyam, Choudhary had recovered one 9 mm pistol and one 38 bore pistol along with 200 cartridges at their behest. Apart from this, more than a hundred bases of Nirbhay were identified.
Major dacoit Sarla Jatav arrested
The dacoit Nirbhay Gurjar was troubled a lot when both of them fled from the gang and surrendered. Based on the input received from Neelam and Shyam, Daljit Chaudhary activated his informers in Chambal area to surround Nirbhay Gurjar. On September 8, 2005, Sarla Jatav, the chief dacoit of Nirbhay Gurjar gang, was arrested from Etawah railway station. Sarla Jatav IS180 was considered a hardcore female bandit of Nirbhay Gurjar gang. 15 serious cases like kidnapping and murder have been registered against Sarla.
During the tenure of Daljit Chaudhary, five dacoits including notorious bounty hunter Rajjan Gurjar and Lovely Pandey were killed near Sikaraudi village in Auraiya district. Daljit Chaudhary put so much pressure on the dacoits that in February 2005, more than half a dozen dacoits including dacoits Arvind Gurjar, Ramveer Gurjar had to surrender in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.
AK-47 near dacoit Jagjivan Parihar
Police was also busy in surrounding the siege of dacoit Jagjivan Parihar, the police arrested Arjun Parihar, a member of Jagjivan gang, through which the police got information about where the weapon like AK-47 came from the dacoit Jagjivan Parihar. This was such information, which was sure to create a stir in the political circles, but Daljit Chaudhary with great understanding started the siege of Jagjivan Parihar with the information received from Arjun Parihar. Seven dacoits of the Salim Gurjar gang, including six brothers, were killed in Bithauli area.
Daljeet Choudhary, due to his network, targeted the dacoits in a powerful manner. Not only in Etawah but also in Auraiya district, he can be said to have made a big contribution to the account of dacoits. Chandan Yadav, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, was killed in an encounter in Ayana of Auraiya area in January 2005, after which the female dacoit Renu Yadav was arrested by the police.
Chambal was made dacoit free
Of course, Jagjivan Parihar’s wish of killing dacoit Nirbhay Gurjar could not be fulfilled, but Dacoit Nirbhay Gurjar was definitely made so weak by Daljit Chaudhary that when he died, there was no dacoit with him. In a way, it can be said that Daljit Choudhary has been a police hero for Etawah, but he is definitely becoming a Bhasmasur for the dacoits, the result of which is that today Chambal Valley has become completely dacoit free.
Kaleshwar Mahapanchayat President Bapu Sahel Singh Parihar says that the kind of campaign run by Daljit Choudhary to free the Chambal Valley from dacoits and eliminate the dacoits is really worthy of praise. For this reason, today Chambal has become completely dacoit free. Dr. Rajeev Chauhan, General Secretary of the environmental organization Society for Conservation Nature, says that an IPS officer like Daljit Chaudhary has worked against the dacoits with his heart as well as his mind. That’s why not only the dacoits were eliminated, but the entire Chambal became dacoit free.
