Employment Assistant Officer on SIR duty in Katni committed suicide by hanging himself. Family members say that payment was not received for 3 months. Apart from this, there was also pressure of SIR work. Family members have demanded investigation and action

Katni News: The news of suicide of an employment assistant engaged on SIR duty has come to light in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. The family told that the payment of the deceased employment assistant was pending for 3 months. Under the pressure of work, he committed suicide by hanging himself.
Actually, the whole matter is being reported from Suntara village of Gram Panchayat Gopalpur under Dhimarkheda police station, where an employment assistant committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree. Police said that the deceased has been identified as Rupendra Singh who was working in Gopalpur Gram Panchayat. His father told that Rupendra was very upset for the last several days. He had not received honorarium for three months. On top of that, there was huge pressure regarding SIR work. Due to this financial crisis and workload, Rupendra has taken this suicidal step. He has demanded a high-level investigation into the matter and strict action against the negligent officers.
Rupendra was missing since afternoon
Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Dehariya said that the deceased was missing from home since yesterday afternoon, whose missing report has been lodged in the police station. Meanwhile, on receiving information about the hanging of employment assistant Rupendra late in the evening, the police immediately reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Further action will be taken based on the facts of the report and investigation.
He said that there is no information about the stoppage of payment of employment assistant for 3 months. As far as duty in SIR is concerned, it will be known. Rest of the investigation will be done as per rules and action will be taken. At the same time, officials of the organization gathered in large numbers after the incident and have raised the demand from the Chief Executive Officer for giving compassionate appointment to a member of the family of the deceased along with financial help.
