One girl even told that her father had died, the boss said – “There are three days leave in the company, just take that much.”

Recently, a Reddit post is going viral in which an incident has happened in the life of a person working in a private job, about which is being discussed everywhere on social media. This is the case of a private employee, who was working in a company for the last two years. Suddenly one night his maternal grandfather dies, so he immediately messaged his manager on Whatsapp.
He wrote – “Sir, my maternal grandfather passed away. I need leave today, I will not be able to come to office.” Now think, if it were any human being, he would have written – I am very sad, I have condolences, take as much time as you need. But after reading the reply of this boss, your heart also sank.

The employee’s boss immediately replied and wrote, ‘Very sad to hear this. Take leave today. But today we’re onboarding some clients, can you stay on the induction call? Be active on WhatsApp also and contact designers if needed. This post on Reddit has drawn people’s attention towards the toxic work culture. Within a few hours, lakhs of people have reacted to it and also made thousands of comments. This person has written in a post on Reddit that- Do managers sell their soul to make a living? They forget that we employees are humans and not machines.
Many people also started writing their own stories. A girl told that her father had died, the boss said – “There are three days’ leave in the company, just take that much. Come to the office from the fourth day.” One user wrote that his wife had a miscarriage, yet the boss called her for a meeting the next day. Someone told that his mother was admitted in the hospital, yet the boss said – “Work from home, give updates every hour on WhatsApp.”

People even wrote that companies do not hire new people to save money and put the entire burden on the existing people. When someone asks for leave, they are advised to work from home. Many users also told that some managers send messages even on weekends. Not only this, it is also becoming common to give new work to your employees at 10 or 11 pm. If an employee falls ill, it is said that he will have to come to the office with a doctor’s note.
Seeing this post, many people even advised that it is better to leave the job rather than being a slave to such a boss. This is not just a matter of one post, many times social media users share such posts in which there is talk about their boss or the HR of the company. On the other hand, there are some private companies which are increasing mental health days, unlimited sick leave, sick leave. Some companies even impose penalty for sending messages on weekends.
