Srinagar: The earth has shaken once again in India. This time the earth trembled in Jammu and Kashmir on a Thursday. Mild tremors of earthquake were felt in Kishtwar and Doda districts in the afternoon. The earthquake occurred at around 12.04 pm. Its intensity was recorded at 3.2 on the Richter scale. Its center was 10 kilometers below the ground. At present, there is no information about any loss of life or property.
According to the information received, the tremors of the earthquake were felt only for a few seconds. People came out of their houses after feeling the tremors of the earthquake. Many areas of Jammu and Kashmir are sensitive in terms of earthquake. Earthquake tremors are felt continuously in these areas. Even before this, major tremors of earthquake have been felt many times in the valley. Earthquake has happened many times in Kishtwar district also.
It may be known that a few days back earthquake tremors were felt in Kishtwar district. Its intensity was recorded at 3.6 on the Richter scale. During this also there was no damage of any kind. The earthquake occurred on January 8 at around 11.15 pm. On the other hand, on January 5, people had to bear the tremors of the earthquake. Its intensity was more than both. An intensity of 5.9 was recorded on the Richter scale.
During this earthquake was felt in India, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The US Geological Survey (USGS), which monitors earthquakes, had reported that the earthquake was felt in India, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The National Center for Seismology had said in a tweet that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred at 7.55 pm.
