Health Tips: According to Dr. Shyamanandan Tiwari in Hazaribagh, Marigold flower is used in the home treatment of many diseases including skin, hair, infection and blood purification.

In this regard, District AYUSH Officer of Hazaribagh, Dr. Shyamanandan Tiwari says that due to the medicinal properties of marigold, it is widely used in Ayurveda. Natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties are found in marigold flower, which help in protecting the body from many types of infections. For this reason it has been used in Ayurvedic medicines and coatings.

He told that Vitamin A, Vitamin B, many essential minerals and antioxidants are found in abundance in marigold flower. These elements are very beneficial for skin and hair. The use of marigold is considered effective in skin diseases like hair fall, fungal infection in the scalp, ringworm, scabies and itching.
Also told that marigold flower paste is one of the most effective home remedies for ringworm, scabies and itching. For this, grinding fresh marigold flower properly and applying it on the affected area provides relief from itching and burning sensation. By using it continuously for a few days, improvement in skin diseases is seen.
He told that marigold flower is used not only externally but also internally. Some people consume it for blood purification. Grinding marigold and consuming it in limited quantity reduces the impurities present in the blood, which provides relief from problems like boils and pimples.
Dr. Shyam Nandan Tiwari further said that even today in rural areas people use marigold flower for swelling of eyes, small wounds, irritation and mouth ulcers. Decoction or paste of marigold flowers proves beneficial in these problems.
