Jaisalmer Picnic Spot: Now tourists can enjoy a royal walk in the famous Sonar Fort of Jaisalmer for just Rs 10. With tickets becoming cheaper, travel has become easy and comfortable, due to which tourists will be able to fully experience the beauty and peace of the historical fort.
Keeping in view the convenience and safe travel of tourists, Municipal Council Jaisalmer has started the exercise of operating golf carts on the ring road around the fort. Under this scheme, a maximum of 40 golf carts will be run in which the fare per ride has been fixed at Rs 10 so that tourists can visit the entire fort with comfort and pleasure.
After getting relief from the crowd and long walking distance, tourists will now be able to comfortably admire the history, architecture and beauty of the golden walls. Now visiting Sonar Durg is going to be not only easy but also memorable.
Under this, arrangements will be made to take golf cart passengers from Neeraj Square to anywhere in the prowl of the fort and the ring road around the entire fort. Another special thing in this is that during the period when these carts will start running, operation of three-wheeler taxis will not be allowed.

On 17th December, a public auction will be conducted in the Municipal Council from 2 to 4 pm in which the golf cart operating firm or any institution, individual etc. can participate in the tender process. For this, while Rs 50 thousand will have to be deposited in the council, the minimum bid has been kept at Rs 2 lakh. The successful bidder will be given this work for 3 years and will have to deposit the final bid amount with 10 percent fee increase in the Municipal Council.
Electric golf carts run on rechargeable batteries that do not cause pollution and are quiet, making them better for the environment. They can be used to transport cargo, for off-road use, or to seat 2 to 8 passengers. Apart from this, their speed ranges from 15 to 35 miles per hour.
For just Rs 10 per ride, tourists will be able to enjoy the fort complex without getting tired. Under the scheme, preparations are being made to run a maximum of 40 golf carts so that the elderly, children and families can get special facilities.
