Controversy has arisen after Ramdev went to raise the question.
New Delhi. Doctors across the country are observing ‘Black Day’ today to protest yoga guru Ramdev’s alleged remarks on allopathy, in which he called modern medical treatment ‘useless’. Various medical associations have demanded an “unconditional open public apology” for Ramdev’s alleged “insensitive and derogatory” remarks. Ramdev had reportedly said that people died of Kovid due to more modern medicine than corona infection.
Controversy arose after Ramdev raised questions on some medicines being used in the treatment of corona virus infected. Ramdev had said, ‘Lakhs of people have lost their lives due to the use of allopathic medicines in the treatment of Kovid-19.’ Ramdev’s comments were strongly opposed, after which Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan asked him to withdraw his ‘very unfortunate’ statement.
Ramdev was forced to withdraw his statement on Sunday. The next day he wrote an open letter to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) asking 25 questions. He asked if allopathy gets rid of diseases permanently.

Along with this, the Bengal unit of the IMA has filed a police complaint against Yoga Guru Ramdev for his alleged remarks that many Kovid-19 patients, including doctors, died because modern medicines cannot cure the disease. The organization has lodged a complaint at Kolkata’s Sinthi police station, accusing Ramdev of giving ‘misleading and false information’ during the epidemic and creating confusion among the public.
The Bengal branch of the IMA said in the complaint filed on Friday, ‘Ramdev has said that due to modern medical practice, the patients of Kovid are suffering more and dying, which cannot cure the corona virus.
