Panchkula: State President of Haryana Civil Medical Service Association, Rajesh Khayaliya made an important announcement on Tuesday. He said that doctors across the state will go on strike on December 8 and 9 to demand a ban on direct recruitment of SMO (Senior Medical Officer) and ACP (Maximum Cadre Promotion). During this strike, emergency services and post mortem services will also remain closed, which can become a serious issue.
Khayaliya said, ‘We are left with no other option. Doctors will have to fight for their dignity and respect, because we have to struggle. He told that during the Corona epidemic, doctors were given the status of God, but now if the sex ratio in a doctor’s field is less then he is suspended. Apart from this, doctors do not even get NOC (Noodle Permission) to go abroad, which has become a big problem.
There should be no shortage of doctors in government hospitals
Khayaliya also said that the state government should ensure that the shortage of doctors in government hospitals is addressed, because at present there is a huge shortage of doctors and many doctors are leaving their jobs to work in other countries. He alleged that the government is responsible for the shortage of doctors in hospitals as the demand for recruitment of 3000 class-one doctors in the state is being ignored.
Question on dignity of doctors
The State President appealed and said, ‘I appeal to all the doctors to participate unitedly in this struggle and support our movement, so that we can save our professional dignity and respect.’ Rajesh Khayaliya said that this issue is not just of doctors but of every person who avails health services. This strike can have a serious impact on health services and now it remains to be seen how the government reacts to it.
