Labor Affairs Expert Bechu Giri says that all measures have been taken by the government to provide financial assistance to private employees. There are many types of Schemes. There are many funds but the biggest problem is that people are not aware of these facilities. In Haryana, as a Labor Welfare Fund, Rs 25 is deducted monthly by private employees, but the employees are not aware of it and neither the companies or factories give information to the employees. While a very small amount is deposited for this, employees get the benefit of lakhs of rupees.

It only contains information about ESI or Mediclaim, PF etc. However, the Labor Welfare Fund is separate from the facility of ESI. People who get ESI deductions or get Mediclaim also have to contribute to the Labor Fund. As far as profit is concerned, only those who get a gross salary of Rs 20 thousand get the benefit of all schemes of the Labor Welfare Fund. While as per rules, factory or company employee earning Rs 50 thousand or Rs 1 lakh a month has to pay Rs 25 monthly.
One rupee was deducted at a time
According to the rules of Haryana Labor Welfare Board (Haryana Labor Welfare Board), in the Labor Welfare Fund in 2002, one rupee was paid from the employee’s pocket. At the same time, the company or factory had to deposit double, that is, two rupees. After this, in April 2007, this contribution was increased to Rs 5 for the employee and Rs 10 for the company. In April 2021, it was reduced to 10 rupees and 20 rupees. From 2019 onwards, up to a maximum of Rs 25 can be deducted. At the same time, the company has to pay double of it i.e. 50 rupees.
Giri says that in Haryana it is mandatory for any firm, factory and company to contribute regularly to the Labor Welfare Fund. If the employee takes advantage of all the schemes running for him as per the rules, then a large part of the salary spent on his needs will be saved. However due to lack of awareness and ignorance, employees are deprived of these benefits. Employees should also seek information about their rights from their factory and company. At the same time, the job provider should also tell this.
