A big racket manufacturing fake salt has been exposed in Rohtas district. The illegal business of selling cheap and low quality salt by packing it in Tata Salt wrappers was going on in the warehouse for a long time.
A big racket of preparing fake salt and selling it in the market has been exposed in Rohtas district. The illegal business of selling cheap and low quality salt packed in Tata Salt wrappers was going on for a long time in a warehouse located in Kota-Dhanki Jamun of Darigaon police station area. After receiving information at the local level, the police considered it a serious matter and took immediate action.
The police team raided the spot and recovered a huge quantity of raw salt, packed finished goods, empty wrappers, sacks, packing machines and other materials from the warehouse. Also the warehouse owner was arrested. This action is considered to be a big blow to the gangs involved in adulteration of food items and selling fake products in the district.
Fake packing and branding business
DSP Dilip Kumar said that the police received reliable information that the business of fake packing and branding is going on in the name of Tata company in a warehouse located in Kota, Dhanki Jamun. After confirming the information, Superintendent of Police Rohtas immediately formed a special raid team. The team was instructed to search the warehouse in the presence of the magistrate and reveal the entire matter and arrest the culprits.
During the search, the police caught Chandan Kumar Sah alias Bablu (30 years), father Shivlochan Sah, resident of Musahebpur, police station Mofussil, red handed.
He was filling cheap salt of various companies in Tata Salt wrappers and preparing to send the packets to the market. During interrogation, he told that he was only engaged in this illegal work as a laborer and the warehouse owner Sanjay Kumar used to pay him Rs 500 per day for packing. According to the police, Sanjay Kumar is the mastermind of this entire network who was running this business for the last several months.
Police action continues
During the raid, apart from suspicious ready packets, a large number of cut wrappers, bundles of new wrappers, sacks, two packing machines and several salt filling tools were recovered from the warehouse. Meanwhile, warehouse owner Sanjay Kumar (46 years), father Jagdish Prasad, resident of Alamganj, Shobhaganj, Sasaram Nagar, present at the spot, were arrested. The police have sealed the entire warehouse and investigation into the entire matter has been started. Police say that such fake products not only play with the health of consumers but also harm the reputation of reputed companies. The matter is being thoroughly investigated and other connected people are also being searched.
