A balanced diet, adequate sleep and light exercise keeps pregnancy safe and healthy.
Kaushambi: These days the crowd of pregnant women is continuously increasing in the district hospital. Changing lifestyle and unbalanced daily routine are affecting pregnant women. According to experts in the hospital, the most common problem is iron deficiency and the anemia caused by it. Every day about 50% of the women here are reaching the hospital for treatment due to iron deficiency or anemia problem.
Increasing anemia in pregnant women
Blood deficiency or anemia has become a common problem during pregnancy. Due to iron deficiency, pregnant women feel tired, dizzy, weak and lack of energy in the body. Experts say that consumption of iron-rich diet is very important to prevent and treat this disease. For this, consumption of green leafy vegetables like spinach and beetroot, pulses, meat, fish and pomegranate helps in increasing blood.
While talking to Local18, gynecologist of the district hospital, Dr. Varsha said that adequate amount of iron and vitamins is very important for pregnant women. Regular consumption of green vegetables, especially spinach and beetroot, compensates for anemia. Along with this, consumption of whole grains, red meat, chicken and fish also helps in increasing essential nutrition and blood in the body. Doctor Varsha also told that if a pregnant woman suffers from iron deficiency, it can affect the fetus as well. Therefore, in case of any problem, one should immediately consult a doctor at the nearest CHC or district hospital and get treatment.

Important tips for pregnant women
Pregnant women should do light exercise and not lift heavy weights. It is important to sleep for eight hours at night and two hours in the afternoon. Do not consume too much oily and spicy food and drink adequate amount of water throughout the day. Take spinach, beetroot and pomegranate juice regularly and consume balanced intake of pulses, whole grains, meat, chicken and fish. By following these measures, problems like blood deficiency and anemia in pregnant women improve and the pregnancy remains safe and healthy.
