Barabanki News: On the instructions of the Election Commission, a thorough revision of the voter list has started in Barabanki. BLOs are doing door-to-door verification and new names are being added. DM Shashank Tripathi laid emphasis on transparency and appealed to give correct information. Action is possible on wrong information.
On the instructions of the Election Commission, a thorough revision of the voter list has started in Barabanki district. With the aim of strengthening democracy, this work has started at the departmental level. Under this, purification and error correction of voter list will be done. BLOs are going door to door collecting information from voters. The Commission has given instructions to conduct SIR survey on the basis of voter list of 2003. Under this campaign, names of new voters are being added and old names are being removed or corrected. Voters will have to present government documents to prove their identity. According to the data of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the total number of voters in Barabanki was approximately 22.16 lakh.
District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, intensive revision work of the voter list is going on from November 4. Our entire team has been instructed to complete this work within the stipulated time frame with complete transparency and integrity. Our aim is to ensure that no eligible citizen of the district is deprived of inclusion in the voter list and the list is completely pure. All BLOs have been instructed to be active at their respective booths and conduct door-to-door verification.
He has also appealed to the voters not to fill any wrong information while filling the form. Whatever information you give, it should be correct. In case of giving wrong information or filling the form from two places, the Commission can demand your reply and also take action. Therefore, give the information requested accurately and do not hide the facts. Rather, whatever facts you give, you should have proof of them. So that they can be presented on time.
