The tussle over the CM’s chair in Karnataka has intensified. DK Shivkumar suddenly had a special meeting with Public Service Minister and Satish Jarkiholi, considered the most loyal of CM Siddaramaiah, late in the night, due to which the pressure on the high command has increased.
New Delhi. The ongoing tussle over the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka has now come to the fore. Prominent political personalities of the state have started visiting each other’s homes rapidly. In this series, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar suddenly reached the house of Public Service Minister and Satish Jarkiholi, considered the most loyal of CM Siddaramaiah, late in the night and held a closed room meeting for about three hours. This meeting continued till early morning the next day. It is noteworthy that there has been sourness between the two leaders for a long time, hence this sudden meeting is creating a stir in the political circles and various kinds of speculations are being made.
Seeing the issue heating up in the state, DK Shivkumar clarified that we only talked about the strategy for the elections of 2028 and 2029. To strengthen the party, everyone will have to be taken along. But sources say that DK is now trying to bring big leaders of the Siddaramaiah camp into its fold. Political experts believe that this meeting is part of a strategy to put direct pressure on the high command. Now everyone’s eyes are on Delhi, at present the Congress high command is silent.
According to sources, after meeting DK Shivkumar and Satish, it has become clear that the efforts to become the Chief Minister after the 2028 elections have started. Satish can become the Pradesh Congress President. It is also being told that both of them agreed to make a strategy together to strengthen the Congress in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. However, it is also being told that Satish has said that right now the high command has put forward Siddaramaiah, hence he will remain with the CM. Until Sonia-Rahul-Priyanka or Mallikarjun Kharge take any decision, they will not leave Siddaramaiah’s side.

Satish Jarkiholi is a five-time MLA from Yamkanmardi in Belagavi district and an influential leader of Karnataka’s largest Lingayat community. He is one of the ministers closest to Siddaramaiah and is often called the CM’s ‘Chanakya’. Satish has also been the working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. He has a strong hold on Lingayat votes and is considered the most important face for Congress in North Karnataka in the 2028 elections.
