Nainital News: Often the problem of road jams arises in weddings due to heavy lighting, DJ and wedding processions. Now the Uttarakhand government has implemented a new rule regarding this. According to this new rule, some things have been banned.
Nainital: With the increasing season of wedding ceremonies, the problem of traffic jam in Nainital city and surrounding towns is becoming increasingly serious. Movement sometimes becomes difficult due to late night processions, long processions on the road and heavy lighting vehicles. The situation has become such that even the ambulance remained stuck in the traffic jam for hours. In view of such situation, Nainital Police has made major changes and issued new strict orders.
SSP Manjunath TC has given clear instructions that now the wedding procession will be able to come dancing on foot only up to a maximum distance of 200 meters from any banquet hall, hotel or wedding venue. There will be absolutely no permission for dance or procession outside this. Police say that often the procession would spread far on the road, due to which the traffic would come to a standstill and the local people would have to face a lot of problems.
Only skirting lights allowed
Not only this, the police has also decided to ban those heavy lighted carts which used to occupy half of the road and cause traffic jams. Now only handheld lighting will be allowed. With this, the procession will be able to proceed in a light and orderly manner.
The biggest change has come on DJ. According to the new orders, DJ will not play under any circumstances after 10 pm. The use of high-bass sound systems and big DJ boxes has been completely banned. Police say that complaints of loud noises late at night were continuously increasing, causing problems to hospitals, students preparing for exams and local residents.
Traffic system will improve
The SSP has instructed all COs, police station in-charges and outpost in-charges to strictly follow these rules. Wedding organizers and wedding processions have also been advised to plan their events in time as per the new rules. While these orders will improve the traffic system, it will also help in maintaining peace and security in the city. Police say that the purpose of the rules is not to reduce anyone’s happiness, but to maintain the balance of public order.
