Mita told how her daughter Sajid, who had first met on the sets of the film ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’, was fond of Sajid. Sajid came to meet the film’s hero Govinda, so that he could convince him for his film. Mita says, ‘Sajid used to go to meet Govinda on the sets of’ Shola and Shabnam ‘to set a date for his film and then he was introduced to Divya. After a long time, Divya asked me, ‘Mother, what do you think about Sajid?’ I said that I liked that. After a few days, she asked me if she could marry Sajid. I told him that he should ask his father and his father was against it. She had her own thoughts. ‘Vag further adds,’ When Divya turned 18, one day she told me that she is marrying Sajid and wants me to sign as a witness. But I told her that I will not get it until she tells her father about it.
Divya lived with her parents. She used to meet Sajid occasionally. His father did not know that his daughter had married against his will. Then, after a few months passed, Sajid went to Divya’s house to celebrate Diwali and announced his marriage. Divya Bharti could not enjoy married life for much longer. Exactly 10 months after marrying Sajid, she fell from the balcony of her fifth floor house and died. She was only 19 years old then.
