Two women have died due to poisonous gas leakage in Kenduadih police station area of Dhanbad. Angered by this incident, people have blocked the Kenduadih-Bokaro main road. Local people are demanding to stop the gas leak and give compensation to the families of the deceased. Here there is huge anger towards BCCL and the administration.
Dhanbad: A serious incident of leakage of poisonous gas has come to light in Masjid Mohalla, Officer Colony and Rajput Basti located in Kenduadih police station area of Dhanbad on Thursday morning. Due to this dangerous leakage, two women of the area died. Due to which an atmosphere of panic has spread in the entire area.
Angered by the incident, local people have blocked the Kenduadih-Dhanbad-Bokaro main road, demanding immediate action. The protesters are demanding immediate stopping of the leak, ensuring that such incidents do not recur in future and giving appropriate compensation to the families of the deceased.
This caused gas leakage
There is a lot of anger among the local people towards BCCL and the district administration. They allege that this poisonous gas leak occurred due to illegal mining and ignoring safety standards. As a result of which two innocent lives were lost. This area has already been vulnerable to problems like gas leakage and land subsidence due to mining activities.
The police and administrative officials present on the spot are trying to pacify the angry crowd and clear the jam. However, people say that their protest will continue until their demands are met and action is not taken against the culprits. The administration is investigating from which source this poisonous gas leaked and who is responsible for it. There is a need to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of the local people.
