Another storm forming in the sea is increasing the heartbeats of the people in India. There is a possibility that during this period, storm winds of 100 KMPH can cause huge devastation. In fact, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure area forming here in the Bay of Bengal is continuously strengthening and it can turn into a cyclonic storm in the next 48 hours. Issuing an alert regarding this, IMD said that this system can take the form of ‘Cyclone Senyar’ around November 26. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of rain in the coastal areas of Odisha between 25th and 27th November.
According to the latest update released by IMD, at present this system is active around the Strait of Malacca and South Andaman Sea and is gradually moving towards south-east Bay of Bengal. IMD’s models are indicating that this system may turn into a depression by 24 November and a cyclonic storm by 26–27 November. Around November 27, the wind speed in the Bay of Bengal can reach 100 km per hour. Due to this, there is a possibility of very rough sea and heavy rain in the coastal districts of South Odisha.

He said that the government machinery is fully prepared, even if the system becomes more powerful in future.

IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea in Andaman Sea and South-West Bay of Bengal till November 25. This warning for south-east Bay of Bengal will continue till 28 November. Local administration has increased surveillance in sea areas and low coastal areas.
Why is the storm named ‘Senyar’, what is its meaning?
The name ‘Senyar’ means ‘Lion’. The name was suggested by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is part of the approved list of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Cyclone Nomenclature Panel. This name was in sequence for the next storm to form in the North Indian Ocean.
As the system in the Bay of Bengal is gaining strength, all the states on the east coast have been put on alert. The Meteorological Department has said that the situation will become more clear in the next 48 hours and after that detailed warnings will be issued on the possible cyclone path and impact.
