Haryana Weather Update: Cold has gained momentum in Haryana. There is dense fog in many districts along with chill in the morning and evening. Visibility remained very low in Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat and Panipat. A drop in night temperature has been recorded while the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding smog in many districts.
Faridabad: Cold has now slowly started showing its effect in Haryana. The chill is clearly felt in the morning and evening air. In many districts, mist and fog have spoiled the daily routine of the people. The sun shines during the day, which provides some relief, but there is humidity in the air and increasing pollution. Because of this it becomes difficult to see far. The day temperature in most parts of the state remains around 24-25 degrees Celsius. The temperature drops rapidly at night. There is dense fog on the roads in the morning. Especially in the districts of South Haryana like Faridabad and Gurugram. It becomes difficult for drivers to see the road. Areas of North and Central Haryana like Ambala, Rohtak, Hisar are also struggling with fog and cold winds.
The situation in Sonipat and Panipat was even more challenging. Visibility was very low here in the morning. At some places in Sonipat, it seemed impossible to see even 10 meters ahead. Its impact was clearly visible on both road and railway traffic. A thick blanket of fog remained wrapped in the villages of Faridabad also. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding deep fog in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Jind and Sonipat. Passengers have been advised to be cautious.
If we talk about temperature, there was a slight increase in the average minimum temperature in the last 24 hours, but the cold did not decrease. The mercury dropped to 6.3 degrees Celsius in Hisar, which was below normal. Nights remained very cold in Mahendragarh, Karnal, Rohtak, Bhiwani also. The minimum temperature in Faridabad and Gurugram was around 9 degrees. The day temperature also dropped at some places, but it is still close to normal. In some districts the mercury reached 26 degrees during the day. In Ambala and Chandigarh it remained between 22 to 24 degrees.
Weather experts say that northwest winds will blow in the next few days. This will not cause much difference in temperature, but the cold and fog in the morning and night may increase further. The truth is that the effect of cold is gradually increasing in Haryana and people should keep themselves fully prepared for winter.
