The court took on record the statement of advocate Monika Arora, appearing for JNU, and said that no further order was required to be passed and disposed of the petition. Advocate Arora said that Narwal, an activist of ‘Pinjra Tod’ campaign, has been provisionally registered in the PhD program of Monsoon Semester 2020 and Winter Semester 2021.
The court was hearing Narwal’s plea seeking permission to temporarily register for the third semester of the PhD programme. Narwal also requested to direct the university to provide login ID and identity card to complete the provisional registration process.

The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing for four weeks against the Delhi High Court’s decision to grant bail to three accused in the North East Delhi riots case. Delhi Police had approached the Supreme Court against the bail granted to the riot accused and the Delhi High Court’s remarks regarding UAPA.
