Delhi Transport Corporation signed an agreement with Indraprastha Gas Limited for the supply of CNG fuel.
Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on Wednesday signed an agreement with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to supply CNG fuel. According to this agreement, IGL will now supply CNG to DTC buses as well as private vehicles in Delhi.
Agreement with DTC and IGL for 10 years
Transport Minister of Delhi Government Kailash Gehlot said that this agreement will remain in force for 10 years. This agreement is an important step towards ensuring uninterrupted supply of environmentally friendly clean CNG fuel for buses and other vehicles in Delhi. Also, in view of deteriorating air quality in Delhi-NCR region, this decision of Delhi Government is very important.
The discount being given by IGL to DTC on bulk purchase of CNG for DTC buses has now been increased to 6.5 percent.
DTC private vehicles will also get CNG
In addition, an increase in the tariff rates of the land used by hybrid CNG service centers to supply green CNG fuel to private vehicles in Delhi would result in a revenue of Rs 2 crore annually. On this occasion, Transport Minister Gehlot said that IGL will continue to supply CNG for DTC buses and other vehicles in the same professional manner as before. DTC’s relationship with IGL will further mature with this agreement.
