A new incident of bear attack has come to light from Pokhri development block of Chamoli district, where a child going to school was attacked by a bear. However, the friend present with him showed courage and chased away the bear and saved his friend. The child’s bravery is being highly praised.
The terror of bears is not decreasing in Pokhri development block of Chamoli. The school going children here are in danger while reaching school. The latest case is of Saturday, when Devesh was attacked by a bear hiding in the forest while going to school, then his friend Pankesh, without caring for his life, raised a noise by throwing a stone at the bear, after which the bear was chased towards the forest.
During this time a major accident was averted. After this incident, there is a lot of anger among the people towards the Forest Department. After the bear attack, Devesh has been admitted to Pokhri Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Describing the incident, Pankesh said, ‘My friend was ahead, I was one or two steps behind him. The bear came from below and caught my friend. I saw it and threw a stone, due to which the bear ran away.
