The 2025 assembly elections in Bihar are over and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is once again out of power. After the defeat, Tejashwi Yadav and his party made allegations like EVM, vote theft, rigging, but the one thing that the people of Bihar remembered the most were the Bhojpuri songs that were on YouTube-social media just before and during the elections, which openly praised the muscle power, katta-rifle, bullets, sticks and hooliganism of the Yadav caste. These songs proved to be a poisonous snake for RJD, which the party first nurtured, allowed to be played in rallies and later, when the poison spread, it tried to clean itself by sending a notice.
Central message of the songs: ‘Yadav’s rule means gun rule’
“The Yadav caste of Ahiran has the courage to shoot six bullets in the chest”, “Be it a block or a district, it is shaken by empty bullets”, “Brother’s coming to power has taken the gun from the house to the house”, “The grains of the rifle go from house to house, don’t file a case in the name of Yadav in which police station”, “RJD attack is prohibited from the shrapnel of the gun”, “If you become Chhauri Tejashwi Yadav’s life, case Words like “It becomes easier to fight” were not hidden. These songs were sung by singers like Khesari Lal Yadav, Tuntun Yadav, Neha Raj, Ankush Raja, Pradeep Yadav and all of them were from Yadav caste. Many of them were also open RJD candidates or were considered close to Tejashwi.

These songs had only one message –
- Power will come not through democracy but through muscle power.
- Under the rule of Yadavs, other castes (especially Dalits, extremely backward,
There will be no place for Mahadalit, Vaishya, upper caste).
- Police-administration will kneel before the Yadavs.
- Those who protest will be shot or taken from their homes.
Panic and anger among non-Yadav population
Yadavs constitute about 14-15% of the population of Bihar. The remaining 85% are non-Yadavs. When these songs were seen and heard millions of times, a message was sent to the non-Yadav community, especially the Extremely Backward Caste (EBC), Dalit, Mahadalit, Kushwaha, Kurmi, Vaishya and Brahmin-Rajput community that if RJD government comes to power, their life, property and honor will not be safe. This was the same society which Lalu Yadav had once promised to take forward from MY (Muslim-Yadav) to M-Y-E (Muslim-Yadav – EBC). But these songs made it clear that there is no place for EBC in RJD, there will be sole rule of only Yadavs.
huge loss of women
Women caused the most harm to RJD. These songs of RJD further pushed away the women voters who were already inclined towards Nitish Kumar’s prohibition and women-empowerment schemes.
A song which was also played in the RJD rally – “Na galne waali dal hai, yeh ladki RJD ki maal hai” Which mother, sister and daughter will vote for RJD after hearing these lyrics? On top of that, words like “Katta Sata Ke Ghar Utha Lebau” instilled fear among women that RJD’s rule would mean Jungle Raj 2.0, where goons and scoundrels would again raise their heads and the honor of daughters would be in danger.
RJD’s double character: First allowed to ring, later notice
The biggest irony is that these songs were being played openly in RJD rallies during the election campaign. These songs were played on the DJ in Tejashwi Yadav’s meetings. Khesari Lal Yadav himself had contested on RJD ticket. Tuntun Yadav also said in the interview – “Why will RJD lose because of our song?” That means the party had no problems earlier. When they lost, an attempt is being made to show themselves as constitutional-democratic by sending legal notices to the singers. The public saw this double standard.
Those viral Bhojpuri songs became the main reason for RJD’s defeat in Bihar Assembly elections 2025.
Memories of Jungle Raj refreshed
The people of Bihar had not forgotten the Jungle Raj of 1990-2005. There were news of kidnapping, extortion, murder and robbery in newspapers every day. These songs instantly refreshed those memories. These songs, viral on social media, told the young generation who had not seen Jungle Raj, what is going to happen if RJD government comes to power.
These Bhojpuri Gunda songs became the biggest reason for RJD’s defeat in 2025. These songs exposed the true face of RJD – a party that outwardly talks about democracy, constitution and social justice but its supporters and star campaigners were openly displaying muscle power, casteist hooliganism and hateful attitudes towards women. Instead of stopping them, the party encouraged them and allowed them to be played in rallies. When the water was above his head, he sent a notice and tried to prove himself innocent.
The people of Bihar have given a clear message – they do not want Jungle Raj 2.0. She will vote on the basis of development and good governance, not at gunpoint. If RJD continues to carry the same casteist-bahubali image in the next five years and does not rein in its “supporters”, then the same songs will dig its grave in 2030 – only then it may not even get a chance to send a notice.
