New Delhi. There is now a decrease in the cases of Coronavirus in India. Along with this, a campaign of vaccination (Corona Vaccine) is also being run on a large scale. Meanwhile, a joint research by Pune-based National Institute of Virology, Indian Council of Medical Research and vaccine manufacturer Bharat Biotech has claimed that Covaxin is effective on delta and beta variants of corona virus. It is effective in protecting against both the variants.
The delta variant (b.1.617.2) of the corona virus was found in India. Whereas the beta variant (B.1.351) was found in South Africa. The Delta variant is believed to be more dangerous and deadly. It is believed that the dangerous second wave of corona in India has come due to this variant. However, there is no evidence yet to say that this variant is causing more deaths or more cases are being reported.
