Lucknow News: The SC-ST Special Court of Lucknow has sentenced a person for fraudulently filing a case under the SC/ST Act and has sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment and fine. The court considered this a serious case of misuse of law and gave a strong message against fake cases.
Lucknow: The SC-ST Special Court of the capital Lucknow has sentenced youth Vikas Kumar, who had falsely filed a case under the Scheduled Caste and Tribe Prevention of Atrocities Act in a land dispute, to five years in prison and a fine of Rs 10,000. The court has taken strict action considering this as a case of gross misuse of law.
The whole matter of fake case
According to the information, Vikas Kumar had lodged a fake FIR regarding land dispute in PGI police station on 29 June 2019. Omshankar Yadav, Neetu Yadav and two other people were made accused in this FIR. During investigation, the then CO Binu Singh found that the incident was completely false. The location of any accused was not found at the spot and investigation revealed that a fake FIR was lodged under the SC/ST Act due to a land dispute.
