Justice Surya Kant Verma, the 53rd Chief Justice of India, took oath at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. President Draupadi Murmu administered him the oath of office. He will retire on 9 February 2027 with a tenure of 14 months. The special thing about the swearing-in ceremony was that the Chief Justices of seven countries also participated in it.
