On behalf of the Dental Council of India, a demand has been made from the Union Health Ministry that in view of the third wave of Kovid, dentists present across the country can be appointed, which will be an effective step towards better treatment of corona patients. For this, a bridge course of very short duration is also being sought for dentists so that they can work as experts to deal with the problems faced during Corona and deal with them.
Dr. Anil Chandna, executive member of DCI, says that just as the number of patients had increased during both the waves of corona, if such a situation comes in the third wave, then there will be a need to increase the number of doctors in large numbers. Which cannot be increased suddenly, whereas the number of dental surgeons or dentists present in the number of 35-40 thousand in India can be engaged in this.
Dr. Chandna says that a dentist does all the studies regarding the body that an MBBS doctor does. Dentist also has complete knowledge about nerve system, medicines along with studying all subjects like anatomy, physiology etc. However, it is necessary to be given information about oxygen, ICU, information about medicines and some other useful equipment and methods during corona.
About 35-40 thousand dentists or dental surgeons are working in the country. Who are being sought to be appointed for Kovid patients in the third wave of Corona.
Along with this, if the dentist is being engaged for serious patients, then they can also be engaged under the supervision of an MBBS physician. With this, corona patients will get better treatment and better treatment by doctors under the supervision of experts.
Chandna says that a demand has been made from the Central Ministry in this regard. Along with this, many suggestions have also been given by DCI. After the recent changes, it is likely that some step will be taken in this regard.
States have appointed dentists
Dr. Chandna says that during the second wave of corona, some states have taken the services of dentists for corona patients. In some places in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, dental surgeons have been engaged in the treatment of corona patients. Although they have been given training for a few days. If similar training is given to everyone, then there will be no shortage of doctors in the country in any wave.
