AIIMS Director had also said – Vaccine will be launched in September
Recently, Randeep Guleria, director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), had informed that the corona vaccine for children can be launched by September. So far, more than 44 crore people have been given corona vaccine in India. The government has set a target of vaccinating all people above 18 years of age by the end of this year.
Dr. Guleria had told that Zydus Cadila has completed the trial of children’s vaccine and they are awaiting approval for emergency use. Dr. Guleria told that the trial of covaccine prepared for children by Bharat Biotech will also be completed by August or September. He said that in view of the third wave of corona, the vaccine will be flagged off soon after the trial.
Earlier, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday that the total number of doses of Kovid-19 vaccine given so far in the country has crossed 44 crores. In another significant achievement, Maharashtra on Monday became the first state to provide both doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine to over one crore people, the ministry said. The ministry said that according to the report at 7 pm, more than 66 lakh doses of vaccine were given on Monday.
