Pfizer Vaccine: According to sources, the central government wants the price of Pfizer vaccines to be 10 to 12 dollars per dose in India. Negotiation is going on with the company for this.
New Delhi. The Indian government may soon approve the foreign Kovid vaccine Pfizer for corona virus vaccination. Along with this, Pfizer Company can also get protection (indemnity) from legal liability. Reuters has given information about this citing sources. A source told Reuters, “Indemnity will also be given to the company, and if one company is found, then it will be given to all the companies.” India had invited Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson to manufacture the vaccine in April, although no agreement could be reached between the central government and the companies.
Pfizer has not yet sold the vaccine to any country without Indemnity. After getting the indemnity, the company will not be legally responsible for any side effects of the vaccine. Let us inform that India has not given protection from legal compensation to any Kovid vaccine manufacturer, but sources say that the government is about to change its stand.
Sources said that the central government has already accepted Pfizer’s demand. The company will not have to undergo clinical trials locally for vaccination in India. Another official expressed hope that the Pfizer vaccine may arrive in the country in August. However, at the beginning of the vaccination, the people who get the company’s vaccines will be monitored. Only after this will the vaccine program be allowed widely. Reuters has said in its report that neither the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the Ministry of Health has given any answer in this regard.
On the other hand, Pfizer also refused to give information about the talks with the Indian government. However, the company said that it has sought protection from ‘legal indemnity’ from the Indian government. Another source said the Indian government is also negotiating vaccine prices with Pfizer. The central government wants that the price of Pfizer vaccines in India should be 10 to 12 dollars per dose. The European Union is paying Pfizer $ 18.86 for a dose. A Pfizer spokesperson said the company is selling it to many countries at no profit. The vaccination program in India started on 16 January and so far 239 million people have been given vaccine doses.
